5 Days from Marrakech to Chegaga dunes.

DESCRIPTION

Day 1: Marrakech – Agdez.

Day Tour to Erg Chegaga. Departure from your hotel at 8:30 to ouarzazate , crossinh the high atlas mountains Tizi Ntichka pass (2260m). Enjoy panoramic view there you well have oportunities to take pictures on each side of the mointains with diferent landscape.

Arrival in ouarzazate at the southern edge of the atlas mountains ,after lunch you will view outside of kasbah Taourirt in the city center . This building is the iconic landmark of the city. In the afternoon, you we drive over the anti atlas mountains with its interesting shaped rocks, to the begining of Draa Valley is famous as one of the tho dates baskets of Morocco some 25 varietes grow here.Henna is also a well known product of the region.

You descend the mountains to Agdez Village here you stay a night in Riad .

Day 2: Agdez – M’Hamid

After breakfast you will visit kasbah tamnougalt the old jewish quarter.from here, you travel firther south as far as the largest town in the valley set in an expansive oasis, zagora where its time for lunch , and next is Tamgroute, where you can visit the famous potteries run by four families and wich are well known for their unique green glazes. The Quranic library in the town is filled with exquisite ancient handwritten arabic scripts and Qurans.

In the afternoon, your desert adventure takes you further south to M’Hamid signal the beginning of the vast sahara desert. M’Hamid is the gate to sahara and the end of paved road. Overnight in hotel diner and breakfast.

Day 3: M’Hamid – Erg Chegaga Dunes.

Weak up early to watch the sunrise and after breakfast , you cross the dry Draa River to visit the old village of M’Hamid where houses are built entirly of adobe.

In the afternoon , the erg chegaga await after 60 km off-road driving, this route passes different features of the desert , dunes, stony desert, as wellas oases, these dunes are far away from any conurbations. At the camp you settle into your tent and enjoy a relaxing glass of tea accompanied by moroccan biscuits, then you take camel ride to the summit of the erg chegaga to watch the sunset views.

Day4: Erg Chegaga Dunes – Ouarzazate.

After amazing sunrise, with the colours of the dunes . You will also have chance to explore the dunes and savour the tranquility of this magical place.

After breakfast you will cross another 90km off-road heading in the opposite direction and experience a variety of scenery, including the dried up lake Iriqui, the mountains, and the historic Rally paris dakar track until you reach foum zguid, the first village after the desert.

From here the drive goes north along paved roads and past amazing rock formations to tge small town of taznakht, famous for its berber carpets and rugs. If you are interested you can visit a display room to see looms and wimen at work.

Back to Ouarzazate , you stay in a riad .

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakech.

After breakfast we stop in kasbah ait ben haddou proud as a Unesco World Heritage Site. It frequently serves as the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters, such as the Kingdom of heaven and the gladiator. It is the most famous kasbah in all of Morocco and one of the most visited in Morocco.

At the end of the afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech which marks the end of your 5 days desert tour from Marrakech .
